Speedo Recalibration Question???

I recently installed 3.42's and I wanted to know my options on recalibrated the speedometer. My local dealer wants over 60 dollars just to program it, which is crazy. Where all can I get it done, or with what equip do I need to do if myself?

I have yet to do this so im no expert... but I know you can do it yourself with: A Computer, a special link cable (going from the comp to the OBDII connector under the dash), and some pcm programming software for the computer.

....maybe I shouldve mentioned: that cable you need is almost as much money as having the dealer do it

your best options are to either
1. find a used hypertech power programmer for ~150
2. let the dealer do it
3. take advantage of the situation and get a custom tune from www.madz28.com or www.pcmforless.com

LT1 edit is $550.....but it comes with the cable which is $100

I've talked to my local dealer, and they want almost 70 dollars just to recalibrate it, I know this is BS as it only takes about 15 seconds and requires no physical labor what so ever.

I would'nt mind even paying 100 or 125 if it was for a program like lt1 edit or something where I could hook my laptop up to my car and change settinging and I could get a way to read engine codes as well.

Does anyone know of any do-it-yourself programs that will let my check codes and change engine settings as well as recalibrate my speedometer for under or around 120 dollars?
