Spec stage 3 ceramic wearing out after 2500 miles???wtf

About 2500 miles ago I had a spec stage 3 ceramic clutch put in. I broke it in and everything for the first 800 miles, and most of the rest of the miles were from daily driving. I have maybe 30 launches on the clutch at the most, most of which were on street tires. Anyway when I first got the car back after the install the clutch was engaging maybe an inch down from the top, now it almost instantly disengages when you push the pedal down, it takes maybe a 1/4(literally)to disengage the clutch. I checked the fluid and everything was fine, so the clutch must be wearing down(I think). If the clutch engagement rises a little more on the pedal I don't think the clutch will fully engage. Has anybody had a problem like this???? I'm kinda pissed, the thing has virtually no hard miles on it at all and it's wearing down. Does spec warranty their clutches? Anything I'm possibly overlooking that can raise the engagement level on the pedal.
Thanks Brad

exact same prob. here, same clutch. Mine chattered so bad I was glad it went out!! Spec gave me a new full-faced kevlar clutch. I just took the trans out the other day to put in a new t/o bearing and it looked brand new after 5-6k miles Its got SEVERAL launches with the drag radials and the juice out of the hole. Pulled a best one night of 1.79 60ft. with severe wheel hop, none below 1.85. I can actually say I like this clutch. I'm not spraying till bout 10-15ft. out of the hole, but it hasnt slipped yet!

Good luck with Spec been through three here. One tore up my tranny so bad I needed a rebuild.

I would go with Mcleod when it goes south again. I won't be recommending them anytime soon.

What ended up happening to your clutch stik6shift93? Mine just had same problem, has only been in since January. See my thread below about what happened.

I have been dealing with star spec for awhile. Few questions for you stik6shift93. Did you get their lightweight flywheel, new OEM flywheel, or did you resurface yours. Alittle while back Spec was getting their flywheels from the popular company, Fidanza (think thats how it is spelled) Turns out a batch of the flywheels were cut to low (.060) from the factory which was causing their setups to grab ALL the way up top, mine did, like .5/1 inches from the top, it sucked. I sent the setup back to them and they replaced the flywheel, i also upgraded to a stage 3 disc (the new stage 3 disc is a mix of carbon/ceramic) they dont come in 2 diffrent models anymore, ALSO the new stage 3 disc is 6 puck, and not 3. Mite want to look into that, call star spec

Hope this helped.
