im running stock heat range plugs they are ac delco double platinum and my underhood temps seem to be very high and my exhaust is abnormally hot. i was wondering of i should have a colder plug with the motor in my sig?

I'd maybe try 1 step colder for the extra power you are making over stock, though I don't know if it actually has anything to do with underhood temps. But I'm still learning here, so I may be wrong.

A lot of people here like copper plugs for better conductivity over platinums, despite their shorter life verses the platinums.

I had an complication with a tune a while back and my fans weren't coming on at all and oddly enough it wasn't overheating really with the 160F thermostat but my under hood temps seemed really really hot.

The spark plug heat range isn't going to affect under hood temperatures. Running too hot a plug may contribute to detonation or to burning the electrodes off the plug, but it doesn't control combustion temperature. Taking a quick look at the plugs will tell you if you need a colder plug. But its not going to solve the exhaust temp problem. Excessive exhaust temps are usually the result of running lean. Have you measured the exhaust temp with an EGT sensor?

I recomend NGK Iridium tr55's for stock replacements and NGK V-power tr6's for a colder plug. I've run both and they both perform very well. the TR6's are more of a Nitrous or forced indutioin plug though.

There are better tr55's that cost more and will last longer fyi, they have a few different grades. If you don't want to replace them twice a year that is.
