somthing to monitor car while driving

is there any kind of tool i can hook up to my car while driving to catch any info or codes it may throw to find my problem

i posted about how when driving i go to hit teh gas and the car just stops power SEL light comes on but doesnt store a code...release the gas and car goe back to normal..no light or anything...it happens in a half second and only once in a while

Get yourself a scanmaster! It will catch anything from all of your sensors on the engine.

Convert to OBD1, get a cable and DataMaster for about the same money and it's alot better.

ScanMaster will not display the OBD-II trouble codes.... only OBD-I. It will display about 20 key engine sensors and PCM parameters in both OBD systems. Look for posts by "Injuneer" on the subject. He has an extensive online writeup on the ScanMaster.

If you have a laptop, you could check out Autotap, thats what i have for my obd2 car.
