something's unplugged?

Okay, searching my engine bay for strange things, on my new lt4(probably should have done it a month ago, when i got it, but whatever)

found a few things.

there is a green plug in between my battery and the right side headlight
it's a 3 plug connector but its only got 2 wires and 2 prongs within the 3 sections of the connector...
what is that supposed to be plugged in to? and it doesnt reach very far, so i couldn't find anything that was unplugged...

also, on my air filter assembly, actually, its after the air filter but before the MAF, there is a open hole, looks like it ought to have a 3/8in rubber hose connecting to it...
i couldnt find anything that would connect to that, and it doesnt make sense to have an open hole between the filter and the engine... so what's supposed to happen there?

Did you try comparing to the 95 wiring harness on Shoebox's site:

http://shbox.com/1/harness.htm

Do you still have A/C?

The connection between the filter and the MAF is probably the connection for the AIR pump air supply. If there's no pump, the hole should be capped.

No i didnt try to compare it, but now that I have... its not included on that schematics..

tried to look for other ones on his site, and have failed to find the right connector.

Perhaps it goes to some sort of crash detector? my original thought was that it went to the washer-fluid container, but that already had a plug/power source...

its bundled up with a whole lot of other cables, but it's exit is right in front the battery area... and only has about 6 inches to play with...

in that diagram here... the cable branches off from the other wires right where the arrow points (FRT)... and lays in the troff between the battery storage box and the front fender... it simply lays on top of all the other wires as they go into the front bumper (presumably head lights)

The link to the harness is the FIRST item listed on the "Electrical (schematics and wiring)" page. Do you realize you can "click" the various connectors and get a much closer view, allowing you you see the weather seal color and the wire colors?

There is a crash sensor in front of the radiator, above the waser bottle. Does your airbag light work?

Could the cable by the battery be for the low coolant sensor?
