somethin is wrong

Nothing serious I dont think, I think its the battery but I want to make sure.... basically lately its been getting huge c lumps of wet corrosion around the positive terminal ONLY, so I figure theres somethign differnt with it, and lately if I let it sit for a while, like all of a sudden out of no where, it loses charge sort of I mean it says it has charge when i turn on the ignition then I go to start it and well it clicks you know like its dead... also when I first turn the ignition on it comes on strong like normal then the lights dim and the fuel pump slows down on the most recent try... also at first jumping it was doing nothing then all of a sudden after the 5th try it just cranked over??? so I drove it around and stopped then started it about 15 minutes later twice on my way home and I got home and it sat lik 30-45 minutes and it just clicks like its dead.... I dont get it I figured if the battery was dead it wouldnt restart if you ever turn the car off and the gauge would say it has no or little charge but no. Also it is wet around the cables near the positive on the battery not water either cause it doesnt evaporate.... any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you have a leaking terminal on the battery. The corrosion can cause lack of continuity and no power. If you don't want a big mess with the battery acid rusting anything it touches, you better replace the batter ASAP. After you pull the battery, use baking soda and then flush all surfaces that the acid may have touched.

i had a similar problem... it only would happen in the cold tho... last winter my car would always say it had a solid charge but then it died on me atleast twice and i had to get a jump....but yea it ran strong all summer never a problem....and then the other day it was a semi-cool morning and i got to school and shut off my car waiting for a buddy and the damn thing wouldnt start back up....so i finally got a jump after school and got it home and got a new battery in it...and now it starts up fine...never a problem...i also notice some acid in the garage...and it hat eatin through like a zip tie tha twas somewhere in the engine bay...so take the baking soda...and i mixed it with a lil water...and then just work it around, i used a little brush....keep applying it to the acidic spots until the bubbling stops....

here a link to the post i put tryin to figure out my problem...
