Question Need New battery suggestions

Currently I have an Interstate brand battery in my z28 and its beginning to go out. It starts up slow, the lights dim a little at night, and the electric fan seems to slow down.

I was wondering if I should replace the battery with yet another Interstate battery, or if I should by another brand, like the brand Kragen sells? What do you guys think? What kind of battery should I get, interstate again or another one? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance..

The Exides that Kragen sells are junk, if you look at how they pro-rate their batteries, it is completely different from say, Autozone, and AC Delco. Exide uses a percentage which benefits them, other manufacturers use the original purchase price and number of months method. If it were up to me, I'd go with a Duralast Gold from Autozone, Everstart Maxx from Wal-Mart, or even a Napa Legend. The one from Autozone is nice because their computer system is nationwide and you don't need the receipt to get it replaced. Plus, like the Everstart it has a 3 year Free replacement warranty. Of course, top of the line would be an Optima. I work at a shop, and we replace batteries just like people change their oil here in AZ.

There is a no autozone around here where I live. Closest one I know is about 30+ miles from here. I'm now leaning towards a new Interstate battery or a AC Delco. What are your opinions on those?

I bought an Autozone Gold battery 4 years ago for my truck. It developed a dead cell in the first year. Autozone replaced it for free with no questions asked. It has been fine since.

I am still running with the oem battery in my Camaro. WHen it goes, I'd like to keep it AC-Delco with one of the Professional series one they make. I just don't know where they are sold. WHo sells the top of the line AC-Delco batteries?

you can go diehard, i liek them better than the duralast at autozone but not as well as interstate. i hade a diehard gold in my saturn with a stereo no problems , its sold at sears so if you have a prob you throw a fit and they fix it. but im sold on interstate for now on but there alot more than a diehard

Put that in my 86 after a long snow / wind storm fired right up. Loved it. It replaced the interstate that was in there.

Im running stock AC Delco in the 94 right now, the headlights dim, heater fans slow down at idle, and all the lights dim when I hit the brakes.

I'd probably go interstate or diehard

I replaced my battery this past summer; it was well past its last leg!

If I had the money, I would have went w/ an Optima Yellow top. But I didn't have the $$ to spend, so I went with a Napa battery instead.

I'll second that. Most any battery's going to last 3-4 years except for the dry cell which is way to much cost for me. Wal-mart's cheap and avalible everywhere. They have good warranty too. Later>>>>>>>

Over the years, I have had good luck with the batteries NAPA sells. Don't know who makes them, but they seem to last and they are good about warranty claims.
