somebody please help.starting problems

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just pulled my camaro out of storage and im already having problems. The first time i started it up this year it started up no problems....i let it run for a good 15 mins and put some gas treatmeant (mystery Oil) in it. Now a few days later when i finaly got my insurance on it, it wont start. The engine is cranking, but all i get is some puffing sounds coming out the exhaust pipes. Last year my opti went out and i took it in to a mechanic i knew really well and he replaced the opti with a new one from jegs, new spark plugs, and new spark plug wires. He also re did my wiring and replaced the water pump. The Car ran beautiful for about a few months, and then i noticed long cranking time for the car to start and that the service enginelight was going on and off periodically......i didnt have time to get the computer scanned before i went to school, and the only way i can get my computer scanned now is if i can get it started and take it to autozone to have them do it for me. does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?? the only things i can think of is it could be a bad opti, the computer is throwing codes, or that there is a bad o2 sensor that is flooding the engine when trying to start.

When I had my 94 Z28, 2 times it had hard starting problems. Both times were the result of bad coils. One of them being a MSD Blaster.

The big killer of one of my coils was moisture. There was a white residue on the coil terminal. The MSD just plain died because it was a POS. There was a "how to" written by someone on here on how to check the coil. You could try searching "coil test" or something to see if you can find it.

Once you get it running, does it start again easily? In other words, is the problem only when it has been sitting? Do you see a puff of black smoke out the tailpipe when it starts? If so, could be flooded from a hole in the diaphram in the fuel pressure regulator. Check the vaccuum line from the manifold to the fpr. If you see or smell fuel in it, replace the fpr.
