some slippage. . . but where?

i dont know what it is, but when i am driving down the road all hunky doory and i deceide,"curtis its time to go somewhere faster then your going somewhere now" and i slam down on the gas my car LURCHES fwd but then it feels like i am slipping and not moving as fast as i should be. I was wondering if this would be the tires or the tranny. I can chirp going into second like every other LT1 and i can spin them almost through first like everyother LT1 but for some reason it just doesnt feel like i am getting the .2 G forces i should be getting when slamming on the gas at 5 MPH. any insight would be nice. there are no funny noises and all fluids were just changed around 1k miles ago.

Re: some slippage. . . but where?

I hate to say it but I thought I had the same problem with mine. What I found was it was not shifting into Low gear unless you smashed hard to the floor. Then it would go like a ****. But if I was going just the right speed and didnt smash the pedal like the detent cable was out of adjust it would just kind of go felt like I was sllipping or just not as much power as I expected. Then I learned about the pedal trick and found it just wasnt shifting all the way into low.

hum, i dont know about that, cause i can put the stick into 1 and it still does it, so i think its getting all the way into the lowest possible gear, i know what u are talking about though i get that sometimes also with the not changing into the lowest. what cable are u talking about that needs adjusting? i am running stock everything with 120k so i bet it would need a little adjusting.

You have a 95 and I am new to the 4th generation Camaro but I believe I have a 700R4 trans and it has a detent cable. I thought this was only in the 93's. You would have to check with someone with better knowledge of all the years if yours has the same cable. I found my car just wasnt shifting down and even when I cut out the block for first gear and put it there, it would not always downshift if I was moving. You have to be going under a certain speed.

Only 1993s have the kickdown cable (4L60 transmission). 1994-1997 have the 4L60E with all electronic control.
