Solid Roller lifter winter storage

Should you loosen the rocker arms on a solid roller lt1 for the winter? I never have but turn the crank by hand so the spings dont sit in one position all winter. whats everyones thoughts?

I raised this issue on Advanced Tech a couple years ago, and the consensus was that it was not necessary to do anything. A "search" should turn up the thread.

no not necessary... if you were planning on storing for 5 plus years then I would say it cant hurt but its still not necessary

I have stored engines at work for 10+ years (diesels and they are solid too) and never had a problem.
