Softest front springs for my LT1
Softest front springs for my LT1
I am looking for a super soft spring to help with weight transfer. I'm concidering the Eibach Drag Launch Kit but I also am looking into making my own drag launch kit with super soft springs in the front, stiff springs in the back, and 2 airbags in between the springs. Any suggestions? Thanx for your imput!!

Re: Softest front springs for my LT1
The stock rear springs are pretty decent for strip use. A friend of mine uses my old Formula stock rear springs in his 30th SS convertible, and he's currently running 8.6x@160+mph, 1.31 60-ft times. He was running the Eibach Drag Launch springs in the back, but wanted to switch back to a stock spring, and couldn't find his old ones. The car launches "just right":

If you do use airbags, you just want the one in the passenger side spring, to resist the torque reaction. The alternative would be a super stiff rear sway bar, like th eone Spohn sells. The car above uses a Wolfe bar.
