So i took of my opti and..

The opti gear was not in the opti. i took off the opti and i saw that it didnt have the little gear on it, i looked at my engine and it was in there. Is that normal? Also there was fluid inside the opti?? like reddish fluid??? is this normal? and whathappens if i dont replace that connecter on top of the opti???? T^hankyou!

Are you refering to the drive gear in the rear as shown in the picture below?

No that should not be in the end of the cam.

The red fluid is probably power steering fluid. Check the resevoir and lines for leaking.

The connector need only be changed if it show signs of damage or corrosion.

Did you index the opti correctly? The opti should not move when bolted on.

That drive gear has been removable on the two optis I've had. I wouldn't worry about it. It's indexed so that it will only fit into the opti and camshaft one way, unless you force it. The camshaft obviously had a firmer grip on it than the opti when you took it off.

I think I read some where that the 93-94.5 were not indexed so you need to mark the direction of the rotor. Please correct me if I am wrong, because I am planning to change mine also.

The drive has an indexing notch that must be inserted correctly on both the cam gear and back of the opti.

In theory the splined shaft only fits in the back of the Opti and into the cam sprocket in one position.... but this is something you have to double and triple check. Its too easy to fit it together incorrectly, and numerous people have managed to do it incorrectly.

Alright, well i think i got my opti in right. All the spark plugs snap into the cap exept 4 Cylinder number 2 when you pull it, it slides right out? Could this be the problem??? They are like new wireS? less than 1000 miles ?? it looks like the wire goes in all the way you just dont hear a click and it slips off realy easy?
Thanks

I wouldn't trust that wire to carry 30,000 volts without arcing to the nearest metal surface. Definitely needs to be replaced.

Ok thanks! i have another question when you put the opti on is there supposed to be a gap? Then when you bolt it on the gap goes away? or is it supposed to slide right in no gaps?
Thanks

no gaps, should fit flush before bolting it down, if not flush, try reindexing it

Alright so the first time i put the opti in there was a gap but i bolted the bolts on anyways. IS THAT y my car wouldnt start?? Did i do any damage to the gears?? NOW i was moving around the little spline on the opti and trying it on in the cam and it finally slip in with no gap. Did i do it right?? I got the bolts on now. Can i put the pully wheel on without the belt and try to start it or do i need the belt on? thanks
