so... i got this hole in my head...

okay, upon getting ready to put the intake back on my motor today, i noticed this black spot on the intake runner on my driver side head. so i go to wipe off this black spot, only to noticed that this "spot" seems more like a hole. so i was like, "nah, cant be." go get the flashlight. hmm. shine the flashlight straight up along the pushrods from the valley. hey look, i can see the light through the hole! the wall is super thin along the runner there and it looks like a small piece of the aluminum wall broke free and left a hole in its place. so i dont imagine that this could really be that beneficial to my performance goals... i have maybe 1k miles total on this car since i put everything in my sig together a year ago on this POS. anyone got any ideas of what my options might be now? anyone got a magic trick that could make this hole disappear? other than putting a much bigger one in its spot?

edit: the hole is slight smaller than a pencil eraser.

Take it down to the engine shop & have it welded.

I wouldn't call your car a POS just because somebody ported the intake port too much. Everybody knows you gotta watch the area near the pushrods.

haha, i didnt call my car a POS because of the porting on the head. its a POS because ive only been able to put (at most) 1k miles on it in a little over a year because the damn thing is always giving me ****. i know trouble comes with modding. but damn it, sometimes you get so frustrated with the stupid **** and the amount of time involved to get/keep this thing running. i just got done putting the heads back on after dealing with another problem. sometimes i just want to pull my hair out. i think that would be more fun than pulling this thing apart again. haha, i'm sure some of you have been to the point i'm at right now. its so frustrating.

so an engine shop can weld this hole closed on an aluminum head? if so, then i guess thats my only option...

Did loyd do the heads? I noticed you have LE3 heads in your sig. If he did your heads I'd contact him and see what he can do.

And if you don't fix it, think of it as your PCV and remove the hose on the side of the valvecover LOL.
