So I got bored today...

And decided to port my throttle body. I have an air foil thing on there and though it looks more efficient then stock, all the bumps and nonsense seem to make me think otherwise, especially when you look at aftermarket TBs (which are perfectly smooth). So I filled in the space between the foil and TB with a metal putty and sanded it all down til the bores were even, and the bumps were removed. It looked much better then before so I put it on my car.

Once it was hooked up, I started it. Everything sounded the same except now its got this supercharger-like whistle, that in increases with rpm. So I take it for a spin. Either it was the cleaning out of the tb (although it wasn't dirty) or the smoothing and evening out of the throttle body bores, but the car feels a little more peppy. Especially in the first gear pulls up to about 50, it seemed like the car just instantly found my 5800 shift point.

Call me crazy, but I think it made a difference. Plus that air whistle sound is pretty cool too.

The peppiness sounds like a placebo effect.

Hehehehe. I have been known to do the same thing. Mainley smoothing out the entrance to the throttle body.

well if you made the bores of the TB bigger than the bores of the intake manifold your creating a pocket of air which could also be turbulence and that would explain the S/C sound. Open up the intake also.

There was idle air leaking around the airfoil, before you filled the edges between the foil and the body. Now all the air is going through the small hole at the bottom, and probably making it whistle.
