Also, did you notice any miss at idle? Did the motor not run smooth?

The wierd thing with mine is that I am getting white-ish smoke, not black...

Thx,
Claude
At idle the car was okay....didn't miss at all. Only when it was under a load and any acceleration.

As mentioned above...it sounds like you may be getting coolant inside the combustion chamber. You may have a bad head gasket. You may be able to tell from a good scan. Check the cylinders for misfires/and/or discoloration on your plugs.

Hey Tony!
I do remember meeting you once at O.C. When I read your license plate, that brought it all back to me. I remember before you used to have a hotcam and NOS?? And you weren't too happy about how the car was running. My camaro is a red '97. I see in your sig you've got a 396 now running 10's!!!??

Yeah thats what I thougth but the coolant level is still fine, Not low or shows any oil in it, nor does it run hot either or smoke out the exhaust at idle or give the burning coolant smell. The oil is also fine (no coolant in oil). I checked all my plugs and did not see anything out wack so I guess I will get it scanned to find out what it could be.

Thx,
Claude

Hey Jon,

It's been a while then since i've last saw you if I still had the hot cam and spray in. Anyway yeah the car is running pretty good but I've been focusing more on my '69 Camaro now. Next time you see me out or if I see you, come say hey or I will.

By the way check out this month of Chevy High Performance Magazine. They did a story on my 2 Camaros. Old VS New.
My cars even made the cover on the upper right side.

Yes, I did use the grease on all connections. Although on the opti-end of the wire, its a little hard to tell whether or not they're on there. With the grease, you don't always hear the "click."

The coil wire was never messed with. It's still the original wire that came with the very first Taylor set I ever bought that was already crimped and so forth.
you absolutely HAVE to ensure the OPTI ends are pushed on (they should actually click, at last MSDs, Taylors do) and also on your plug-ends (should snap). If I were you I'd pull every wire end and inspect the terminal-end line-up is correct, while your there take a multitestor and check your ohms. MSD 8.5s are something like 45-60 ohms resistance p/foot I believe and for every foot you should show that. Mine were dead on 60 ohms for 1 foot. It will also rule out a bad or missed crimp. You should change your coil wire while your at it.

Something happened for it to go south right after you changed wires, good luck!

Change that coil wire too. That was my problem last year.
