So I found a nice little problem with my car today.....

So i've had this car a while but havent been able to work on it.... hell I didnt even see it in person until 3 weeks ago when I returned from Iraq. Well I decided to change the plugs today and i'm getting them done in no time like usual when I hit #6 and see that its only threaded in about 4-5 full turns! It was rattling around in there and the only thing that was keeping it from turning anymore was the plug boot. It was covered in burnt fuel and looked terrible. What kind of problem could this cause if it was left out for a number of miles? I fixed it asap and the car pulls much harder than before. All the plugs on the driver side were dark and looked like they were running extremely rich. The passenger side though was showing normal wear. Anyway any ideas on what could have happened to that cylinder?

My guess is air/gas was getting out from there causing the o2 sensor to tell the computer to richen the condition on that side of the engine. I dont think its anything to worry about since you got it fixed.

Probably nothing.

My front left plug has fallen out several times from the idiot mechanics that worked on my car. It just caused my car to run like **** til I finally fixed it.

There is some lock tight you can use but do a search to find the correct one since they are aluminum heads and you don't want to over tighten the plug or use too strong of lock-tight.

You use anti-seize, not thread locker on spark plugs in aluminum heads.

Ya whoever changed the plugs put like 50 ft lbs of torque on the others(exagerating). I was having a hard time breaking the others loose and i'm not weak dude. I got myself a hell of a project car. The exhaust note on the car REALLY changed on the highway after the plug change.

Oh ya and I used anti-seize and good old fashioned plug boot protector. (Dielectric grease.)
