smoke after cam install
smoke after cam install
When i first started the car up, it had some white smoke come up out of the engine right after i did the cam install. Had no clue where it was comming from, but it went away after 30 seconds or so.
I figured we just got some oil or something on the headers or something to that effect. Didnt worry about it.
Now when driving around (100 miles later), some white smoke came up through the window defrost vent 2 different times. Only did it for a few seconds, but it worries me. I also have a "unique" smell which is almost sweet smelling that is intermittent. Any ideas?

sweet smell
This has nothing to do with cam install but the sweet smell is your heater core. You either have a hole in it or you have a hole in one of your lines going to it. Check your passenger side floor to see if it is wet.
I would also say it is the heater core. Mine did the same thing, and it was the heater core. They rust and mess up. It cost me a fortune to have a shop do it...it was around 350 bucks. I don't know if it is an easy install if you know what you are doing, however.
