i think you just take everything out. if you have stock manifolds cap off the AIR lines on top and then remove all the rubber/hard lines and unbolt the pump itself. then unplug anything connected to it and there is one line that goes to the intake you must cap off.

Who sells vacuum caps? Local auto parts?

There is one line that you will probably have to cut to remove, but other than that...its simple. The only gains you'll get will be weight and extra space in the engine bay (worth it to me) because the pump is just electric.

Re: Smog Pump Delete Kit?

If you have the stock manifolds you will need two M22-1.5 oil drain plugs to plug the holes. If you have headers with AIR connections, you might need those same plugs, or caps for some header brands.

After you remove the air supply line from the intake ducting, you need a 5/8" vacuum cap. Its a common item at an auto parts store.

Re: Smog Pump Delete Kit?

Sorry for bringing this back, but is the air supply line the one that goes to the portion of the ducting right before the MAF?

I have a 1994 Z28 and wish to remove and reprogram the PCM to eliminate the pump and PCM codes...
What about the "Check Engine" light & the fans staying on...
Thank you for your help!!!!

Re: Smog Pump Delete Kit?

In OBD-I (93-95) all you need to do is unplug the harness connector from the pump, and make sure there is a good fuse in the circuit. It will not set a code, not turn on SES light, not turn on the fans if you do it that way. No programming necessary.

The fuse for the AIR pump in the under hood fuse/relay panel. It has to be good. The relay also needs to be there.

OBD-II will likely complain. Reprogramming is necessary to keep the code away.
