Smog-Legal Headers That Fit LT1

I like to get a set of Smog-Legal Headers that Fit well and helps made Spark-Plug easier to change on my 1994 Z. I have the hooker cat-back and have to keep my Single Cat. Also the car has been lowered with Gold-lite spring I have no ideal how much they lowered the car it was done before I got the car, So I am not sure if long tubes will drag.

Thanks

Keep an eye on the for sale section of this board. When you see a set of used SLP 94-95 style headers for sale jump on them. I have them, and spark plug access is better than stock, but still not great. You will need an offset 5/8" box end wrench and that will help a lot on the plugs. Not only that the SLP headers are stainless steel and give some really nice gains.

If you do end up with SLP headers, go over to SLPonline.com and get the installation kit. I think it comes with stuff to connect the AIR fittings and EGR that you will need to stay smog legal. Also comes with some gaskets and stuff.

I would also recommend doing the Taylor over the valve cover wire set at the same time because it will make routing the wires 100x easier and you won't run the risk of burning a wire out.

I actully just bolted my MAC headers up and put the plugs in...I used to have SLP headers. Let me just say that plug access on the MACs is SO much BETTER then the SLP, I could probly do all 8 plugs in about an hour now. MACs are also emission legal.

Barring any hand cramps I could probably change my plugs on the SLPs in an hour

LOL...I'm running 12.0 N/A with ALL my emissions stuff hooked up on my MAC headers.

Plug access is great. #6 can be a little tedious, but still not too bad.

Frank, I'm also from Md, I interested in LT's, did you have any problems with the VEIP in Md?

SLP's will probably give you more hp than most other shorties but the headers kind of make plug access a PITA. No worse than manifolds. I think i would go with MAC's if you just want goo plug access, fitment and nice gains.
