Smog/air pump removing.. alt and radiator reloaction.. then turbo
Smog/air pump removing.. alt and radiator reloaction.. then turbo
I want to move everythingt out of the way so i can take the manifolds off a early 90's truck and put them on backwards (have the outlet port towards the front). This will mkae it easy to setup my turbo from there. THe biggest problem with this is two - three things.
ONE. There is there alternater on the pass side in the way.
TWO. Intake will be too close on the drivers side
THREE. For a front mount turbo setup and to make it fit easy, i will have to geta new smaller radiator and move the location...
So i need all the suggestions i can get. THis is a daily driven car so nothing too radical. I need PS and if AT ALL POSSIBLE, a/c would be nice.
So i want to get a griffin radiator and cut a bit out and mount it up like this.. any tips on this? anyone here done this? I need all the help i can get. Though i think this is going to be easier than figuring out the alt thing.

huh?
I'm confused, you have pics of two different setups, pn 2 different engines(lt1 and ls1), the the red car wouldn't work like that, you have no room for the throttle body.........

Are you sure you will have to relocate the alternator? I used Vortec truck headers and they clear everything but the A/C compressor on the stock bracketry.

Im going to check out your pictures... im just going with a real real little t-61 for 6 psi or so on the stock motor. I plan on going to something like a T76 GTS or more after i get the forged bottom end.
If I don't fully comprehend what you have done on your car, would you be willing to snap a couple pictures for me? (or do you want to keep that **** top secret like everyone else.. lol..)
THanks a lot... your pictures are already a ton of help.

Ttt Bump!
ok... i do have one question about mounting the headers backwards like that.. do the exhaust ports all line up fine and fit the ports right? this is a queston someone asked me, and i wouldn't know (though im assuming they do)...

so are these the headers you are using? These look the most like the ones from you pictures... if not could you point me in the right direction?
