Exclamation Smart guys only 95 Z28 Camaro(AutoXRay)

I purchased a brand new AutoXray Code Reader from O'Reilly Auto Parts Company and it would not read the codes on my car. I have a 95 Z28 Camaro that i bought new; however, its an OBDI car with a OBDII ECM/PCM receptacle underneath the steering wheel. Do anyone know of a code reader that will work on my car?

Did you get the special cable that works with the 1995 OBD-I pcm and OBD-II type DLC connector? It should work fine, that is if you got an OBD-I scanner.

Take that scanner back and check out Ram Chargers. They have a "scanmaster" which will read your codes.

The Xray will work. I've used one for about 5 years on my 1995.

Ditto, it should work. I had the original and had it upgraded to ODB-II for $75. Now autoxray has an upgrade to CAN supported vehicles for $99. Might want to check their website for their tech support number and specials if interested.

a 1995 has a obd2 connector...

but has the obd1 profile, the jumper method works fine I have a autoxray and it is hooked up this way.

I believe yorkie means jumping the appropriate connectors in the OBDII type connector to the OBDI style cable, not the 'paper clip' jumping method..[which doesn't work for 94+]
