I'm missing a vacuum line to whatever that piece is... so what is it? Also, where does that vacuum line go to? I've already got one hooked up to that piece and it runs to the hose near the fuel lines. So, where's the other one go?

Found out what it is: EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Next question, if I don't have an evap. canister, can I delete this? I'm not sure if I actually replaced it when I built the car.
Therefore, can I just remove it and plug the throttle-body?

If you don't have a canister, there is little need for the solenoid. Cap the tube on the throttle body. Your OBD-I computer will probably not complain about it, but if it does, you can have it programmed out. FYI, having the EVAP (or even EGR) does not hurt performance any.
Is it the doohickey with the red/blue plug, and has 2 nipples ( I said nipples) facing the firewall? If so one is suppose to be a vent I believe and the other is the vacuuma line for the fuel pressure regulator I think (going from memory) but them again I dunno if my 96 is different from your 94 in that area

Your fuel pressure regulator vaccum line should go to the bottom intake fitting on the passenger side of the intake. Right below the vaccum line for you a/c.

That's the hissing that you hear when changing positions...

what exactly does the EVAP do? Is it really needed? shoebox?
Itd be kinda nice to get rid of it off the side of the intake, clean up the engine a little more.

The "round thing" is a vacuum switch that the OBD-II system uses as a watch dog on the EVAP system. It tells the pcm if the system is acutally working when it is supposed to.
