Yea I really don't think I'd bother with upgrading those macs.

I'd leave the macs and put that money towards a good dyno tune.

But my SLPs seem to be doing well. I picked up 2mph in the 1/8 with only the headers.

i have slp shorty headers with a vortech 6 psi blower making 390 rwhp. no fitment problems and the jethot coating is still flawless after just over 15000 miles and 5 years.

With good flowing heads on a N/A setup any 1 5/8's shorty header will be restrictive, the headers have to come off anyway for the new heads so I might as well put in some better flowing headers. Why risk that extra 5 to 10hp gain? I've also heard that MAC's are only good up to 350hp.

This leads me a to a different subject, MAC's for sale.

See my sig... That's full weight with A/C, and PS...Running through MACs, and a Flowmaster exhaust (with no cutout).
The suspension is completely stock (original), also.
You're cutting the MACs a little short.

Nice numbers. I'm not cutting the mac's short but you have to admit even you would see some gains by to SLP's or AS&M's.

well since they are both very comparable to each other, then why not get what have the best price available to you.

myself i have as&m and find it easier to change plugs on my friends car that has long tubes. not only that but easier access to the y-pipe and o2 and so on.

If you're dead set on headers why not just go longtubes

Actually, I've seen dyno tests where MACs made more HP than either of the other 2...Eventhough they're only 1 5/8".

I agree, the only tests I've seen where one set of headers made more power then another was shortys vs longtubes, and only at like 500rwhp...but its your money

Can't afford FLP's and hookers + lowered car don't go well together.
