Thumbs up SLP Shorty Header Flange -- Fixed!

Not too long ago, I purchased a set of used SLP shorty headers. Ever since installing them, I could not get the driver's side flange to seal. Turns out this is a common issue due to the large, thin flange on the driver's side. I tried several different gaskets, doubling up the gaskets, and even making my own gasket; none of which worked.

So I removed the header and brought it to a friend's machine shop. after reinforcing the flange and milling it flat, no more leaks!

Here is the result:

Another benefit to this modification is, there is now a surface on the flange to catch the locking washer of my Stage 8 locking flange bolts.

Not a bad idea at all. I'm suprised you don't hear more problems from other people about this issue?

Thankfully, I never had that issue with mine.
