When I change my plugs, I just loosen up the header bolts to make things easier to reach. It may be a little bit drastic but I don't think the bolts are too hard to get to.

The bolts idea may actually work..but lets face it..on one hand..you're all alone in the garage..with four loosened bolts and a socket set..on the other hand..you've got your best bud infront of the small girl (legal age of course) who is infront of you..this way there is no story about you and your 'buddy'

Here's the way I get it ......using the slp socket an a wratcheting wrench, climb up on top of the engine and then reach down and get it with the wrench and socket combo.
