SLP Paddle Kit necessary for 4:10's??
I will soon be installing Richmond Street Gears 4:10 ratio in my '96 z28. It has a 7.5" rear end, just like all other 82-02 z28's came with, i think. Anyways, i just read that I need a SLP Paddle kit ($169.99) in order to install 4:10's in this rear end. Is this true, or are they just trying to make some money? Thanks

The SLP paddle kit is only for cars that came with the Zexel Torsen differential. Since you have a 96 Z28 and not an SS, you should be able to use any 3 series carrier 4.10s without modification. All the GM LT1 cars and some of the LS1 cars came with the base Auburn differential. The Zexels were only available as an option on SLP cars (Firehawk/SS) and stock on late LS1 cars.
