I havent heard of it causing any major problems except for killing the fan motors quickly. I have heard some people say they latter took it off and the fans didnt come on when they should. I thought about getting one, then i thought i dont need it to cool my car in the staging lanes, cause i dont take the car to the track, and i rather let the computer turn the fans on and off.

just go to radio shack, buy a relay and a switch instead of buying an expensive kit
You don't need a relay. Just a DPDT (double pole double throw) switch and some wire. There are a number of ways to do it, but the easiest involves grounding two wires in the connector on the passenger-side fender. When one is grounded, the fans are on low. When both are grounded, the fans are on high. This is for OBD-I. If you have OBD-II, you have to add in some resistors, but it works the same way. Can someone list the page? Now I can't find the one I used.

I dont know what the problem that causes this, i just have heard of it happening. My question for these people has always been, if you have the switch and it works fine why take it off. Honestly, i doubt you'll have problems running it.
