I have the revised version of the spec stage 3 carbon. I went through the cheaper mcleaod in about 4000 miles. When breaking the clutch in, it is pretty noisy. Now that it is broke in, its not that bad, but it has a little bit of chatter. I would not want anything more aggresive than this for my daily driver. I have had this clutch for about a season, and it still works fine. I only think I have about 330 or a little more at the wheels, but am looking into building a stroker here pretty soon. We will see how it hold up.

Great info and experience, keep it coming.

So we've concluded the SLP clutch IS the LT4 clutch which is lightened.

We've also concluded the LT4 disc is nosier than the LT1, but not necessarily stronger.

We've concluded that LT1 disc will work with the Centerforce PP but with an adjustable slave.

We've concluded anything else?

Do I have the above right?

My stage 3 ceramic is going in on wensday, I'll let you know how it goes. I know of 2 people that have the same clutch in the ls1s and haven't had any probs. Anyway I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping for the best.

I think possibly the problems we hear about people having with Spec stage 3s is the old version, im not positive they had the old ones, but spec has revised the old 4 puck version of the stage 3 with a 6 puck, which holds more and is lots smoother.

i have an LT4 clutch disk and pp and i like mine so far. i have pulled low 1.9 60' times so far. it is a good choice for a street driven car. drag racing it is okay but as stated before i would get a centerforce pp and a stock disk with adj. slave.

I had a centerforce dual friction in my supercharged third-gen and it was great, I beat the crap out of it with slicks and hard launches and it never slipped a bit! I really need a clutch soon, does anybody actually have a centerforced lt1?

Cool

Here's a pic of the revised Spec Stage III Carbon (6 pucks) next to a Stage II Kevlar.
http://www.reanimator.org/Z28/pics/spec_2_and_3.jpg

The Stage III chttered bad the first week, but it doesn't chatter any more. I've been driving on it for about 6 months. It really grabs hard. Even with 2 people in the car it will really yank you on the hard shifts. I really like it, and I hope it lasts.
