SLP 1-3/4" headers and BMR k-member
SLP 1-3/4" headers and BMR k-member
Just an update for those that are interested in running this combo. Many people know that they are not compatible with each other since the drivers side header collector output interferes with the rear bracket for the motor mount on the k-member.
It was easily remedied by a local exhaust shop. What they did was cut off the output of the collector to remove the bolt-together coupler (to the y-pipe) and added a short length of pipe to go around the k-member and then installed a turbo exhaust type clamp. They shortened up the y-pipe accordingly and added the mate to the clamp. It works and looks great and I can take the y-pipe connection apart with 1 bolt.
Bottom line is, it is possible with a slight modification. Total cost was $165, well worth it to me to be able to use both parts. Email me at blownf1@aol.com if you'd like pictures...I'll get them up on my site one of these days.
