slemmed into a curb(laterally) stuff broken, help

I spun around on a road, and the right rear end slid sideways into a curb. After it hit the curb, a chuck of the wheel came off. So, I need a new wheel thats given. The wheel that broke was an AFS 17x11 zr1 with GS offset(50mm). Anyone have one for sale??

However, it makes a terrible squeking sound, so i checked it out after I jacked it up.

It appears that the force of the impact bent the axle shaft inside the rear end, so the rotor and wheel studs are not turning true and rubbing the caliper. Now, my question to you guys is this.

Has anyone hit a curb like this, is there any other areas of damage that I have to look at, I mean if the force bent the axle shaft, other things could be broken I assume. I checked the panhard rod, the lca's, torque arm, they seem OK but u really can't tell visually. Any tips???

Can I buy just an axle shaft(anyone selling one?), or is it time for a strange 12 bolt.

True, I decided to get the strange, I'm just a little angry I have to shell out 2G's now, I didn't want to yet. Atleast my car will be wickedly fast launching out of the hole with slicks, street twin, and the strange but the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ANd i hear if i order a strange and an AFS wheel there is like a few month wait time, summer will be friggin over by time i get these parts..........

Anyone else on other parts to replace, I looked at the rotor one side of it is chewed up from the caliper, I think I need a new one of those too.

Guys, how strong are the torque arms, LCA's, and panhard rod, those are next to check. I am running bmr for the lca and panhard rod though, hopefully it didn't bend the metal attaching them to the chassis or i'll be even more

HAhaha. Wow, I did this exact same thing on New Year's Eve. Hydroplaned, did a 180, and smacked into a curb. Although, I think you have more damage. Replace the rotor and I found an axleshaft at a junkyard for $100. The caliper and brake **** still make some noise, but whatever. I can live with that.

There are places that will repair aluminum wheels... and they do a darn good job. At least the two I know here in Vancouver do. My friend did the exact same thing in his S10, we replaced the axle with one we got at a wrecker for $60. And the Rim repairs were $100. That's Canadian prices...

I did the same thing early 2000. I bent the wheel, axel, as well as screwed up the caliper and rotor. Everything else, panhard rod, LCA's, etc.., was fine.

thanks guys, good to hear the other suspension parts didn't break when you hit the curb.

Oh well, it's just money rate, $2500+ worth of money but money still, lol. It's a forced upgrade, I'm not changing rears again I will get better parts.

I'll get the 12 bolt, and I think my wheel is BEYOND repair, I mean I lost a good 6x2 inch section of the rim thats probably still on the road. Hopefully AFS will sell me one and it will be in stock

He lost a 4x2 piece of his wheel lip. I thought there was no way it could be repaired, but the shop did a good job on it. It's worth checking on though, might save you a few hundred.
