There are no cons. Dont give in and buy a skip shift eliminator for $30. You can do it yourself for about $.30. Just go to radio shack, buy a resistor, then unplug the skip shift plug out of the tranny, hook in the resistor, wrap around some electrical tape, and your done. Do a search if you want a more detailed write-up

BTW: WELCOME!!!!!!

Since he has a 94, he doesn't even need the resistor. 94/95 will not turn on the SES light when you simply disconnect the plug and tape it up. It will set DTC 84.... but doesn't turn on the light. 96/97 need the resistor, because simply unplugging it turns on the SES light as well.

I unplugged mine about a week after I bought the car new in 1994.

If you get an eliminator (or do it yourself) will the light on the dash still go on even though you dont have to skip anymore?
