skip shift elimination

I was wondering if the skip shift elimination is worth it? what does it do? Will it make my car faster?

It won't make you any faster, but it's definately worthwhile.. Especially since it's only $.99, and you can do both cars..

It eliminates the lockout that occurs when the skip shift solenoid is activated that forces you to shift from 1st to 4th, so it lets you go into second instead... Doesn't make you any faster, but it saves you all the annoyance of being forced into 4th at 15-20 mph...

All you need to do is buy a 2.2K ohm, 1/2 watt resistor at Radio Shack or wherever, I paid $.99 for a 5-pack.. Then, locate the Skip Shift solenoid (above and to the right of the fill plug on the transmission).. Unplug the wire from the solenoid and bend the resistor so you can put both ends into the two openings on the plug.. Then tape over the end of the plug, tape it back to the tubing that holds all the wires if you want, and you're done. 5-10 minute job.

I'll see if I can find you the picture that shows where the solenoid is..

Here's the picture.. I found this earlier today before I did my skip shift elimination.. When you're under the car looking at the fill plug you have to look up the side to see it, there isn't a ton of room to work with so the higher you can get the car the easier it will be.. But no matter what it won't be hard.
