Awesome #'s. This maybe my next mod to my 355" LT1. I would hope to pickup 25-30hp. Think it's doable? LMK the track times and we can adjust for elevation. Later Clint

I know of at least one person who's planning to do exactly that sometime this summer....

Re: single plain conversion dyno #'s inside.

I wish I only did the intake swap when I did this. Sorry about that guy's. Like I said before, I race at 5,300 feet. DA was 6,000 today. Best pass for the car was 11.33@122mph. Anyone know what it would have run down at sea-level? alittle more track time and It should go 11 teens. All I can say is I'm glad I did the swap. Now I can just about put any intake on the car.

I forgot to mention, 4.56's are a blast. Never shifted so fast in my life time. I had a greatime today.

i would guess your 11.33 would have been in the neighborhood of 10.20s the reason i say that is my buddy races at bandamere in colorado he was running 13.1s @ 7400'w/da and he went unchanged to H.R.P and ran an 11.88 @15'above w/da more like 75'above..of course conditions were not the same he said he had traction problems at both tracks

This was just in another thread.....

There are the NHRA correction factors. Bandimere is the highest track I know of in CO at ~5800 ft (should use DA for more meaningful results) so anyone running there corrects to sea level by multiplying their ET by .9276 and MPH by 1.0773.
10.51 basically based on that correction factor...... If the DA was - like on a lot of very fast guys best passes then it would be better than that. Honestly I would rather see a "best pass" and a best pass corrected to a zero DA just so everyone has a real feel on all of this.

Yeah but you can't compare a cars times that runs at 6000' above to someone like me that runs between 0-2000'max in the summer. My car has run a best of 11.24@120.8mph at 200' above sealevel. So if someone that doesn't know reads this they would say my car makes more power but in reality I only make around 430-440rwhp so we need to compare apples to apples. I know a guy with an LT1 Camaro that makes a solid 450rwhp on a mustang dyno and runs 10.teens@130mph down here at NoProblem raceway N/A with a stroker 396 LT1 and converted single plane intake. Re: single plain conversion dyno #'s inside.

The correction factors are basically there so you can come close to comparing the two numbers.... You will need to retune the motor for the better DA but esentially if you had two cars that had the same corrected ET and ran them against each other on the track it would be a dam good drag race.....

Personally when I see a guy running really competitive times and then you notice he has a really high DA it shows you he's probably doing better at making power than you lucky guys with the 200 to negative DAs.

The place where I dyno'ed my car sits at around 5,600 feet elevation. Uncorrected the car made 413rwhp. Corrected for sea level it made 500rwhp. So 413 at the wheels got me 11.33@122mph. This is still a 6 speed car and I'm sure with more track time it will run better. I could only dream of racing down at NoProblem raceway in some -DA. My goal for this car was to run in the high tens NA. It might be doable. Time will tell

It's doable with the amount of power you are making. The carI am speaking of runs a Th350 and leaves awesome 1.40 60's. Goodluck. Later Clint
