I don't know about out the back... mine comes out the passenger side in front of wheelwell. I have the Dynomax race bullet. 3" straight through, 16" long version. Bolted muffler on after Y-pipe and ran 3" tailpipe out the side. (pipe bent to 4" x2") SOUNDS FEROCIOUS! LOUD BUT I LIKE IT!

I run a single 3" out the back and it sounds great. Mine isn't a bullet though. I like a nice clean, powerful sound, but not deafeningly loud. A bullet out the back (or the side) would be loud. Running it out the back would allow the bullet to clean up a little more of the high frequencies because of the added pipe length. The difference wouldn't be huge though. If you like loud, it will be.

No, I just mean that some of these just look so......ummmm.........
rigged I guess.

All of the no real muffler systems sound like cheap $11 glasspacks. To much de-acceleration crackle.

well everyone to there own i guess. have you ever heard kmooks dual exhaust with the x pipe? that thing sounds awesome, even on a computer. i have heard the single bullet myself and i thought it sounded better than any 500 to 600 dollar exhaust ive heard yet. i do really like the gmmg exhaust but im not payin 700 bucks for a sound. ( i cant afford a 700 dollar sound ) what do you like since you dont like this setup?

I am a fan of factory exit exhausts, using a good ole crossflow.
I know there is a point where a guy needs to get away from this design due to high HP but not on a street driven car.

LT1's have a rare sound to them and I just hate it when one drives by and sounds like a pick up. Around here all of the pick ups have the nice two out the rear exhaust.

I dont think you have heard dynomouth exhaust. It sounds like a damn race car. I am getting it in a month or so. I was wondering if anybody has a sound clip on an lt1. In case u dont know what it is. it is a bullet before the axle and a y-pipe on the other side of the exhaust for two tips. It bomb.com
