Question Simple question about Pushrods, just need someone to clarify

I have a 96, and I'll be doing the SA 1.6 RRs in the near future.

I have question about pushrods since I may change them for the heck of it. When you get the valve covers off, and the RRs removed...do you just pull the pushrod out? and just slide the new one in?

what does it seat itself on so i don't put it in too far? or is this a straight forward no brainer install? Can it fall in somewhere and not leave its head exposed?

yes i need some clarification

thanks,

once the rockers are off, just pull it out and slide the new ones in.

it seats in the middle of the lifter, you can see the lifter if you shile light down there, just put it in the middle of the lifter. Make sure you hit the lifter cause if you drop it and cant reach it with a magnet or something else, the intake must come off.

Hrmm, from the research I've done so far, I don't need to change to hardened pushrods with Self Aligning RRs.

So they wouldn't have to come out at all for this upgrade then would they?

You are correct. If you use SA rockers you do not need hardened pushrods. If you do switch to hardened pushrods, you will need to install the correct guideplates.
