This weekend me and a bunch of friends (both manual and A4 cars, camaros, mustangs, etc.) visited a dyno for the first time. They told us to run the car in THIRD gear... I always thought you were supposed to run on the 1:1 gear, but if I remember ok, my car's (T56) 1:1 gear is 4th, not 3rd...

Does this actually make a difference? I asked the dyno guy and he said it didn't make any significant difference

yes it does make a difference, run it in 4th gear those are our 1:1 gear.. for example some dumbass dyno operators ran my car in 3rd gear twice instead of 4th, it put down about 10whp more than when in 4th gear

 

on auto's 3rd gear is 1:1
