silicon compound on plug wire boots??

didn't notice this stuff till i was ALL done with the plug wire change. it's a small tube of "silicone dielectric compound" and it says to put it iinside the boots to prevent arcing and promote good sealing...

this is the first time i've ever done plugs/wires...will this make much of a difference with the function of the plugs?

grease

The grease also makes removing the wires in the future easier.

Besides what you and TennSS posted, there is not much more to say about what it does.

It is a little extra insurance for all reasons listed. Factory wires come with it on them.
