Shutter on take off, need help, anyone in San Diego??

I have a slight shudder/vibrate on take off when i disengage the clutch, the clutch is a spec stage 2 clutch, with a new tranny that was put in, but the problem has happened before and after the tranny swap.

i was wondering if there was anyone in san diego that might be able to meet up with me and test drive the car to see how it runs, but i only want to meet up with someone that is knowledgable on the forums and that most people seem to find trustworthy.

I have a 96 camaro z28 with t56.

any help is appreciated.
thanks
Z

A couple of questions: Did you burn up the stock clutch making you upgrade to an after market clutch? Did you have the flywheel turned (machined) to have the warp cut out of it? Did the flywheel have hot spots (dark colored spots caused by a bad slipping clutch)?

I had a dual friction centerforce before this spec clutch, the centerforce however started slipping really badly, then one day one of the bearings on the pressure plate busted on me, that is when i got the new clutch, i did ask for the flywheel to be resurfaced, and i actually didn't look at it myself.

So i can't be sure exactly what the problem is.

hotspots will cause it to chatter. If your other clutch was slipping pretty bad you probably got them. There is no way to machine them out since they go all the way through. Either you will have to just deal with it (it won't hurt anything) or you have to get a new flywheel.

i have a Spec Stage 2 in mine, and it does pretty much the same thing, when i had it installed my mechanic told me that i had a few hot spots but the flywheele altogether looked fine. Now that the clutch is broken in it doesnt chatter nearly as much as it did when i first drove it home.

try: www.sdcarscene.com

That is our local board and there are a bunch of F-body guys on there. I could probably give you a hand sometime, if not your best bet is to ask for Jason (89LT1Formula) on the board. He does work on most peoples car.
