Thumbs up New 1500 Series Rubber backed Replacement Carpet from F-BodyCarpet.com

www.F-Bodycarpet.com

A couple of months ago I asked the members of CamaroZ28.com if they were interested in a higher quality replacement carpet for the F-Bodies. I had A LOT of responses to this question. The consensus was that you were willing to pay the higher pricing for such a product. So I have spent the last couple of months developing it.

This new carpet is even thicker than the "800" series currently available from other aftermarket manufacturers. This new carpet now has a new molded rubber backing attached to it just like the OEM carpet has. Other aftermarket companies do not have the ability to add this rubber backing to their molded carpets. The carpets they sell you for $99 weights about 18 pounds. My carpet is 100% thicker and denser plus the addition of the rubber backing makes my molded carpet weights nearly 40 pounds. It is available in 23 colors.

Please note there are no pre-cut holes for the seats or the seat belts. This keeps costs down, and allows for slight variations in fit. It also makes it possible to fit a larger range of applications IE: any interior modification that you have done (aftermarket seats, consoles, etc...).

Matching Carpet Accessory Items such as interiors door panels replacement pieces, floor mats, show mats, and carpeted carbon fiber hoodliners using the same 1500 series carpet will be available in the very near future!!!

As I am new to the F-Body community, I am not new to this exploding need for this market. I started selling this Carpet to the Impala SS community nearly 2 years ago. This all started because I need a good high quality carpet for my Impala SS. Since I then I have sold this carpet to more than 700 Impala SS/ Caprice owners and it hasn't slowed down yet. My philosophy is simple: if it isn't good enough to install in my award winning Impala SS then it isn't good enough for your car, period!!

My Impala SS Carpet.Com website has a comments area for people to freely express themselves about my products and service. There are more than 60 posts there. Please feel free to browse that area for my customer's feedback.

Currently I am ready to sell carpet for the 3rd Generation F-Bodies. Both the front passenger area and for the rear cargo area. The 4th Generation carpet will be available after next week and after the final test fitting again, next week.

Test fittings will be done ASAP on the 1st and 2nd Generations in the very near future.

I am offering an introductory offer on this carpet for the next several weeks. The Cost of the 3rd Gen front pass carpet will be $299 and the rear molded cargo area carpet will be priced at $ 159. THESE PRICES INCLUDE DELIVERY IN THE CONTENTAL US. NO extra shipping and handling fees. What’s the catch?? After you guys start installing these into your own F-Bodies I want to get the photos of the installations from you.

A little background about me:

I am the Founder and Vice President for the Impala Club of San Diego. I have been involved with showing my Impala SS for more than 2 years now; my cars website is located at www.ssmokybear.com. I am a consultant to the nation club AKA: The Impala Club of America. I live in San Diego and have a full time job (local truck driver) besides running this company out of my house on the side. I am always open to any suggestions that you may have about any of my products. So feel free to drop me a line anytime at Smokybear@F-BodyCarpet.com.

Questions you might have for me:

1. What qualifies this carpet as a higher quality than say OEM carpet or an aftermarket carpet from ACC??

This is a tricky question to answer but bluntly put, both of the aforementioned carpets sucks!! In the carpet industry carpet is rated by its series number. My carpet is known as the 1500 series. OEM Carpet and ACC’s carpet is rated at 800. Using a scale from 100-1500: 100 is the thinnest, least dense, shortest and lowest quality and 1500 is the thickest, most dense, tallest and highest quality carpet available on the market to date. This is of my own creation that I made in the beginning for the Impala SS’.

2. Besides the carpet itself why is your carpet so much more expensive than OEM or ACC’s Carpet.

It is more expensive than the OEM Carpet because of the higher quality material being used. It is more expensive than ACC’s carpet because my carpet has the factory rubber backing on it. ACC Carpet doesn’t have it and probably never will. The rubber backing does several things for the carpet. It adds a stiffer backing to it to prevent the carpet from sagging or wrinkling while installed. It also acts as a sound barrier in the vehicle to keep out unwanted road noises. Just the way the factory designed it.

If the new website isn’t up by Sunday it will be up by Monday night. Webmaster is working feverishly to finish it.

I am also looking for someone with a 4th Gen convertible to have their floor pan molded. The manufacturer is located in Dalton, Ga. In exchange for letting us mold your car you will receive a free 1500 factory replacement carpet from me for your time.

Any takers near Dalton, Ga????

My 2001 Camaro SS is the prototype for this carpet and I want to say that it is top quality stuff.

The carpet is so much thicker and plush than our stock stuff. You will be amazed at the difference.

Tom is really taking all the steps necessary to ensure proper fit and excellent quality. He has had a great deal of success in the B-body market and is really making some top notch carpet for the F-bodies.

With all the dips, notches, hills, and valleys in our floor (catalatic converter, drivers side useless notches, etc) I know after 8 years my carpet has gotten worn out. I would like to see some pictures of a 4th Gen with the carpet, close up shots, etc. You'll have my buy in once i see those pics!

I just noticed for the Impala's you have floor mats, trunk lid carpet, and HOOD insulation carpet. Will you be offering the floor mats for the 4th gens as well. (Custom fit)

My cousin has a '95 'vert, so he might be willing to work with you. I sent him a link to this post.

Install pictures will be up tonight.

I will be making floor mats and accessories available in the near future. I wanted to see what kind of reception I would receive from the F-Body people before diving in over my head. I already have a mold made to mold the passenger side floor mat but we have to figure out what type of backing to use on the floor mats for the F-Bodies. Any and all embroidery can and will be available using a new process we are experimenting with on the Impala floor mats. The floor mats will be ready in the next week or so.

Just curious, is the carpet lighter than stock carpet/sound deadener? Will this decrease sound even better than the stock, or do you leave the stock sound deadener pad in?

Dalton, the carpet capitol of the south.
Hey, this is Stew, Jacks' cousin. I do have vert and it is definitely in need of some carpet I'd be willing to have it used as a mold.
If you would, email me about some specifics.
Downtime being the primary consideration.
Thanks,
STEW

Floor mats!?!?

My factory SS floor mats are shot. Hmm... might have to give you a shot! I'm sure you have the "SS" in the proper font?

Cool

Cool

No, I don't think i do... I'll work on that though. I don't have use of my old hard drive anymore. It had quite a few shots on it but it gave up the ghost. I'll try and take some and put them up somewhere.

You can use the stock padding if in good condition and removes fairly easily. The carpet itself is very thick compared to the stock stuff. Plus, it has a rubber thick rubber backing thoughout the mold (all the way to the trunk cut off) to insulate much better.

After my install, I noticed it is much quieter inside the car.

Did you remove the stock padding, or leave it, and add the 1500 carpet?

I removed the stock padding from the stock mold and reused it with the 1500 Carpet install.

I am not sure if all cars will be able to reuse the padding. For my 2001, I was able to do so.
