shrader valve with fuel line?
shrader valve with fuel line?
I am stumped on this one. I bought my car about two years ago, and finally got around to swapping my TFS heads and LT4 intake onto the car. I had to pull the intake back off because it was leaking in the back. For some reason there is a braided line that supplies fuel that runs to the fitting where the shrader valve is supposed to be. I apparently tightened it down to hard the first time because the whole fitting came out when I tried to disconnect the line that runs to it. I am not sure why this line is here or what purpose it serves, whoever owned the car before me put it on. If anyone can provide an answer as to what parts I'll need to replace or why in the world there is what seems to be an extra fuel line there I could use some help.
Thanks
Thanks

I'm not sure what you are talking about, a picture would be nice.
But I have a braided line on the shrader valve for my n2o fuel solenoid feed. I also broke it and had to replace it with a new fuel rail. becareful!

Re: shrader valve with fuel line?
That picture you have is exactly the same thing I'm looking at on my car. Basically the fitting that goes into the fuel rail twisted out, so now there is a hole in the line. You said that you had to buy a whole new fuel rail? I've read several things that are pointing in that direction.
1994-1997 RH fuel rail 17113251 $194.95 is what I'm assuming I will need.
There is also
1993-1997 fuel rail kit/parts for return line 17113095 $20.52
Anymore help you can give is appreciated.

Re: shrader valve with fuel line?
OBE1, you hit it on the head, I do have a fuel pressure guage that was on the car when I got it....thanks for the explanation. I guess I will do what NVetro said and look for a used rail to try to save some cash. Thanks for the help guys.

In the picture, I noticed the line off the shrader valve is what I wanna do & I'm hooking up a fuel pressure guage.
Does this sound about right? I'm looking online with Summit Racing, this is what I was thinking so far.
- (Elbow Fits on Shrader Valve) 90 degree swivel head 4an female to 4an male #nos-17535
- (Hose Fits on Elbow) Hose 4an female and 4an female #nos-15210
- (Adapter Fits on Hose) 4an Adapter to 1/8 npt #nos-16781
Re: shrader valve with fuel line?
You can get a short hose with a -4AN connector on one end to attach to the NOS swivel fitting, and a 1/8" NPT male on the other end, allowing you to use a simple 1/8" NPT brass coupling to connect your fuel pressure sensor to the hose. NOS sells them in a 24" length if I recall correctly, or I have seen them available on eBay in custom lengths for about 1/2 of what NOS charges.
Re: shrader valve with fuel line?
i've taken the fuel rail on my lt1 apart into several peices, i dont have a problem, but just curious could u get these peices seperately as needed, from dealer or elsewhere, and do u always have to get an entire rail?
