Should I use "Stop Leak"

I seem to have a slow leak comming from where the water pump mates to the block. I was thinking about trying one of those "stop leak" products you pour in to plug leaks. Is this a good idea or should a stay away from that? Thank you.

Cool

Not only will it stop your leak, it will clog up your entire coolant system. If you ever see older cars with brown sludge floating in the sstem, it's probably coolant system sealer 90% of the time.

Just pull the pump and replace the gaskets, it will probably be cheaper actually.

I usually try to stay away from "fixit" additives. Correct the real problem. You will be much happier in the long run. Heck, you might just have a loose bolt.

Heck, thats easy. When you got to the parts store for the gaskets, just keep the plastic bag you get when you check out. Before you crack the bolts on the pump, get under the car and hang the bag over the top of the opti. Problem solved since you've bagged the opti I call it the AutoZone opti protection system
