You'll need some tuning or simulators to take care of the rear sensors.

Good luck getting those Stage 8 locks over half the bolts on an LT1 install. Depends on the header, many Stage 8's eventually admit to leaving off several locks.

Breslin are some very nice bolts, but last I heard they went out of business. If you can find em, have at it.

Get 1" bolts... more thread enguagement, no worries about bottoming out.

chasing the head threads and blowing them out with compressed air should be a given before installing the headers.

I used 1" ARP's... as far as strength of the threads, and uniform-burr-free design they can't be beat. The 12-point heads are also smaller than most bolts making for easier fit with a box-end wrench.

Oh yeah... don't use locktight unless you NEVER want to pull the engine again without breaking a bolt. A dap of anti-sieze would help. Just retighten a time or two after a heat cycle and you're set.

My stock manifolds had two studs with no nut when removed (at 250,000 miles).

Even the factory fasteners came off on their own from time to time.

Only issue with the Breslins is the outward pressure and slits in the threads. I'd be worried about some dumbass trying to tighten or loosen my bolts without knowing to loosen the inner lock first... not sure what the threads would look like after that (then you have real issues... like pulling heads and helicoiling or tapping larger threads :-/)

No problem as long as you tell anyone who works on your car.

I just put the stg 8s in and just used a hand file to shape the retainers so they'd fit. Took about an xtra 15 min or so which seems like an eternity when you're doing it!
