Oh yeah, your the guy with the broke chain. That made me nervous about staying with the stock set. But I think that was just a fluke deal. At least I hope it was.

I'm running a stock chain with the HOTcam, but then again I have an electric waterpump.

Man, I know a kid that left his stock timing chain on his car and not too long after he put the hotcam kit on, he broke it. He bent some pushrods and it had to be torn back down. Because of this, I stayed safe and put an Lt4 extreme timing set in my car. If your interested, I know where to get them for $222.

I got my LT4 ED chain and gears from Jason Cromer for $198. This thing is beefy and well worth the extra money! Before I order the Hotcam kit I think I will talk to someone at Combonation Motorsports just for kicks.

Hey SVT Killer.....BTW what's a "man card"??? LOL

Why on earth would you still run a stock chain, especially if you are running an electric waterpump? The double roller is 80 bucks.

well if you have an unvented opti and dont have an extra 350 bucks lying around at the time its the only way

imo the people who tell you to go bigger are looking out for you in the future

but if your heads are going to be stock for a while i would go no bigger than a cc305 or a ex 224/230

btw some of the QUICKEST cars I have seen on this board WITH STOCK HEADS ( in caps for flame retardent)
are running small cams like the crane 210/220 and hotcams

but i am also a fan of a Texas style toqure curve long and flat so my oppion is not shared by the majority

Well I'm not putting stress on that timing chain by running the waterpump so I figured that running a stock chain would be fine. That and it was $20 compared to god knows what I would spend for something else.

NOOOO! Give seth a call at cmotorsports, they sell LT1 cam kits with better cams and better parts for about 600 dollars. I'm going with the low-lift 224/236 for my blown car. I think you will come out a very happy man if you give them a call. You could even throw in a double roller and an elec water pump. Good luck!
I just put this cam in, its pretty nice, unfortuneltely I have no superchaerger yet, but even without the upper RPM power is a very good difference, it really comes alive after about 3500. THe idle is very near stock, with just a slight lope, most people will probably miss the fact that it has a cam, but it does sound very mean and much louder. The car runs just like it did before the cam, only with more power.
