Should I get a Scanmaster?

Hey Guys,

I really like the looks of the scanmaster, but I was wondering if it would actually be something that would benefit me, or would it just be something nice to have.

My car has no internal mods (yet).

Let me know what you think...

Thanks, in advance!

I think it's a great instrument. Shows you everything your PCM sees, plus gives DTCs

It's nice. I would use the money for a wide band 02 though because datamaster does everything it does and is free.

Its very important as you do not need your laptop to see nice things as your IATs, O2 millivolts and KR!!!! and others... ive been trying to get my hands on one but it has been a bit but impossible...

Anyways...

I have one and I Love it!! The few times my car had showed a SES light or shut off on me I was able to figure it out by using the DTC feature. You will realize how benifical it really is if your car ever shuts off on you and throws and SES code (it happened to be a few times). I was able to decifer the problem and fix it myself immediately. It also has a LOT of other reading that may become very useful to you when you start moding your car. You can check out my sig to see where I have mine mounted. I would highly recommend getting one.

Thanks,
Claude

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the feedback! Not a negative response in the bunch. I guess that more than answers my question!

Thanks!!!

only problem you start to run into... for me anyway.. is that youll spend more time with your eyes on the scanner than on the road! its definitely up there in the top 3 best things i bought for my car.

Since the scanmaster provides the exact mph your driving etc, i tend to look at mine a lot. But yea, its definetly worth it IMO. Easy install too..
