should i do cap and rotor when doing plugs and wires?
I changed the cap and rotor on my car last December. I bought the parts from a local GM dealer. The cost, with a 20 percent discount, was $230. This might be something for you to consider.
GM Parts Direct has a better price, but as usual, they make up the difference in their shipping and handling charges. I'm still glad I did it because the old parts were completely worn. My '93 still has the original Opti after 130K !

the thing is that when i bought the car i didnt know and i washed the engine and rinsed it with water and it woulndt start for like 3 days and then it started and since the ive gotten a miss at high rpms so a guy is charging me 220 for labor in coil, plugs, wires and opti. should i do it just in case?
you tihnk this will get rid of the miss?

I would definatley change the opti if you are having a miss. If it wouldn't start for three days after your engine washing experience you have a prob already. 220 sounds like an awesome deal for all that stuff too. I would jump on that.

You neglected to mention that you washed your opti. Didn't GM make a wonderful decision to put a distributor on the front of the engine under a water pump that's prone to leaking.
That is an awesome deal to basically rebuild the ignition system. I've seen some places charge $200 bucks to do the plugs alone.
