Should I cam engine at 185k?

I know it's risky but I can't get rid of the itch to atleast cam the engine. I will eventually add some heads(either dart pro or loyd elliot's) after rebuilding the short block but for now I am thinking of camming my lt1.

If it's running well and not consuming oil it should be just fine.
Do you know the complete history of the motor?

I got the car at 112k on the odometer . Since then I have taken good care of it . Your usual maintenance . The only thing left to do before I move ahead with the cam is perform a compression check on all cylinders.

Might as well if it has made it this long. I personally would not, but chances are you have more cash then me right now haha. Just make sure the install is good.

I would! Like others have mentioned, as long as you perform a leak-down test and it isn't consuming oil, have at it!

Just don't use a hammer to install it and you should be fine. That guy only got a few miles out of his.
