Here is another tid bit, the back end of the car is squating too much, ie wasting energy it can be using to go forward.
Looks like it's level and that is good, just going down too far. What rear shocks/springs do you run?

Stock springs minus the rubber insulator, and cheepo comp. eng. shocks set loose because on the 50/50 center setting they were too tight, so tight that I had to put all my weight on them to compress them...

I'm still also on the stock LCA's, PRB, and Torque arm, so I can't adjust IC to help with the squating...

What size tires are those on the rear? 275/60-15? And are they drag radials, or ET streets?

Yeah the 28" tires I run are 275/60-15 MT DR's, I know they aren't the best for my combo, but they came with the draglites I bought from the board clasifieds, and they had decent amount of life left so I have been using them...

Here is a better shot of them, the photograper happened to come around when I was in the middle of swapping them out between rounds...

i'd check the setting again....i had to put all my weight on the 30/70 setting and couldn't hook anything.....40/60 could compress by hand(with force) and hook much better....50/50 was like mush

Thanks

Awesome times by the way

One last question and then I'll quit hi-jacking your thread

Are your rear wheels 15x8 or 15x10? Thanks again

It just needs to hook better, that pics with the hang time doesn't show the real bad tire hop and spinning I felt, but it was there. I was actually suprised when I saw the photo on the photographers website and it was actually in the air, I wouldn't have guess with how slow it felt off the line, and I guess I didn't even feel it come down with all the damn wheel hop...

try to set your shocks up harder like shon said, have your measured the MT's b/c I checked a set and they wer 27"

Do you have relocation brackets? maybe try them if not with a hard rear shock it should plant the tires harder.

I haven't measured them but have set them next to the stock ones and they looked about 1.5-2" taller...

And nope, no relocation brackets, the only rear suspension I have is a 1" drag race sway bar, and the comp. shocks...

I have played with the rear shock a couple times, and think I may have gotten a bum pair since the loosest setting is loose enough to compress and extend by hand with maybe 30-40# of force, but the 50/50 (middle) setting is so tight I need to set it on the ground and push down with all my weight to compress and when it was on the car it didn't move at all, and I didn't try the hardest setting since the middle was soo damn tough...

It's not really a street car any longer, not much holding it back really except the wife scared of a wreck without any of the safety items in it, but after I get to the point of a cage it will more then likely see the street again...

The last time I had it on a hard setting was before doing the front suspension, and it seriously only spun the tires and had no weight transfer, my wife would joke and say it "looked like I was pulling out of a parking spot" when I left the line because there was not lift on movement at all and I was moving soo slow because the tires were spinning. After that a local tuner/enthusiast helped me and we decided the best thing was to go all the way loose on the rear, I haven't tried tightening it back up since getting the fronts though, so I'll try that within the next few weeks sometime before my next race...

Let me look for my buddy's car, we have pix of it launching on the stock stuff just like you with those same shocks on loose setting. BAD squat, changed the shocks to a stock set and a slightly larger rear sway bar (I will try to find out which one) and it picked up a ton in 60'.
