Clint,

Actually, the gearing isn't all that great because I have 28" tall tires so that makes it about the same as 3.42 gears with the stock tires. It looks like 4.30's would be optimal for a bolt-on only car, but since I still have the stock 10 bolt I may just try 4.11's...

Another question if you don't mind. Is the box for the ABS the thing that is above the drivers side front splash panel? I think that and the cruise control ( which I never use) is on the list of things to delete. Oh, and is it very hard to turn the wheels if I have skinnies up front and dump the power steering pump? Thanks, Rick.
Gas is ~6.25 # per gal., actually just less... The stock tank has probably a 16 gal. capacity... the box in the splash panel is the cruise control, the ABS controls up front is the thing that all the brake lines feed into next to the airbox, but there are electronics for it in the drvers compartment too, not sure if the 94 has a BCM or not...

As for the lack of power steering, I would never do it on a street car, mine is pretty tough to turn but I can deal with it as a track car, I think it might be annoying on the street. Again this is just my opinion, but when I first researched it everyone said it wasn't too bad, and I agree it isn't as bad as a full size tire, but still nowhere near easy...

Thanks for the help. I guess I have to stop racing with over half a tank.

You can lose 70lbs by running just 2-3 gallons in the tank v/s a full tank and I always run mine with 3-5gallons but have run it lower trying to run quicker.
Slowformula, I would just go with 26"tires and keep the 3.73's b/c they are stronger, speacially in a 10bolt. Sar2k (Steve) had that combo and ran low 1.5 60's when he had the bolton record (11.93?). JMO Later

I got the rims and tires off the board clasifieds for a good price, and when they wear down I am going to swich over to a 26" tire but right now I don't have the money...

I have a set of 26x11.5" Et streets that have about 1/2 tread left. I'll sell them for a good deal. LMK later Clint

Aren't you running the stock stearing rack though instead of a manual rack?

Clint,

I might take you up on that, but it all depends on how money looks thins month, but honestly don't see it unless some serious changes happen...

yep, that was what he asked about, or at least that is what I figured since he said "Oh, and is it very hard to turn the wheels if I have skinnies up front and dump the power steering pump?"

I'm sure a manual rack will make it easier to turn, none of my friends who went with a manual rack complained about the steering effort.

well, shon's MPH was only 111 IIRC, so you have him beat there

A manual rack is easier, but the question was about running a power rack without the pump, and I gave my oppinion...

His MPH was 113.96 so I'm only .8 MPH lower...

good job...im impressed...think 26 will do this trick alone almost...and no records like this should have been beat in an auto...i would have though it was never possibly with an auto...just because that top end you dont have and shon was leaving i think at 6000 with 4.33's i would think you couldent match his 60' or mph at all

your car with a cam is goana fly...think you should clean house and go for franks record next
or the stock internal record...

Kind of backwards. Autos E/T better and manuals trap higher as a general rule. This is of course if the auto is stalled.

If he ran those times in the heat of summer, I'm sure it will not be too hard to drop a bit more during the end of the season once it cools down.

Ok I was getting the car ready for my race tomorrow, and decided to change the oil since I honestly don't remember when I last did it, well I was working off the 3000 miles thing but forgot that I don't drive the car on the street anymore... So I decided to try royal purple, it is actually purple oil , and when changing it the old stuff was black, and when I pulled off the oil filter I found that it was the same one in there when I installed the headers last year in May because there are still marks on it from the header install...

I also checked my fuel filter, and it was pretty dirty too, and realize it hasn't been changed in over 4 years...

I guess we'll see what tomorrow holds since I actually did some maintenance on this damn car, I wonder if this would be enough for 11's, I guess only the weather will tell...
