Shoebox? Low Oil sensor. Has a black and brown wire connects to it.. but
the replacement connector i bought for it has 2 white wires..
Im guessing if both are white it doesnt matter that the other 2 are brown and black... just makes me worry that there are 2 ways of hooking it up..
Im guessing the sensor completes the circuit to single the low oil light to come on and if thats the case it doesnt matter how i hook it up but im not sure.
Does it matter???

If you have the old one, just match it up. The brown should go in cavity "B" if you can see a marking on the plug. I believe, if you have the terminal end of the connector facing you with the clip on the top, the "B" is on the right. Even if you put it on backwards, it should work. The sensor just provides continuity through it.
Re: Shoebox? Low Oil sensor. Has a black and brown wire connects to it.. but
yeah i matched it up... Thanks for the heads up. If u dont mind could u explain to me how the sensor actually works?
THe end has a Buoyant cylinder styrofoam piece on the end.. Does that stay suspended in oil and the weight of it when its not in oil comes down and completes the circuit?
And just to make sure its hooked up right. I turned the key to the on position and the Low oil light comes on for 1 second as it should then turns off like it should.
So lets say i cut 1 wire will the low oil light come on and stay on?
Or would the low oil light come on and turn off?
Or would the low oil light not even turn on for 1 second when i turn the key to the on position.
Im asking this because i want to make sure i have a good connection on the old wires with the new wires.
thanks again so much

Sounds like you have it right. The cluster tests the lamp for one second when you turn the key ON. If one of the conductors was broken the lamp would stay on.
Low oil actually breaks the circuit through the sensor.
