shoebox 1 more Question

i have it wired like that, but what can i use to hook up the 12v. I htought the stereo only came on when the ignition was on, thanks for the help.

You need to reference a post or something. I am going to guess you are talking about a fan switch. Use a meter or test light to find a power wire only hot with the key on. Most pink ones should work. You can also run a wire to one of the "ign" ports at the fuse panel.

I can help with this one... well at least I know where to tap the underhood fuse box. Take it off and towards the left end on the bottom there should be 3 or 4 thin pinkish wires. Any one of them should do the trick. You are just looking for 12+ Ignition switched correct? You could also pull that from the in car fuse panel. Just look for an accessory that only gets power with the key on.

The entire fuse box under the hood is switched power.
